The Assembly elected SDSM leader Radmila Sekerinska chairperson of the National Council for EU Integration, which is supposed to help Macedonia integrate into the European Union quicker, the media report.

Sekerinska was elected with 64 votes in favor, no votes against, and no abstentions. Sekerinska was elected to this position in accordance with the parties' previous agreement that the council should be led by the leader of the opposition. Stojan Andov, leader of the Liberal Party, was elected deputy chairman of this council.
