Just before being due to land, the Macedonian Army helicopter received orders to wait and give right of way to a passenger plane arriving from Zurich, Dnevnik has learned. The initial reports about the accident show that the pilot of the "Mi-17" army helicopter did not report any defect in the aircraft to the Flight Control at the Skopje airport. Dnevnik has learned unofficially that the last time the pilot contacted the flight controller was at 12:13. It is still a mystery what happened with the helicopter between 12:05 on Saturday, when the helicopter entered Macedonian airspace from Kosovo, and the moment of the accident.
