- Candice Miller, President of the Group for Friendship with Macedonia in the US Congress submitted a resolution with which it she urged the White House and the State Department to secure Macedonia’s NATO accession at the NATO Summit in September. In the resolution supported by 12 other congressmen, dedication to the NATO reforms in Macedonia is paid, participation in the peacekeeping mission in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the economic reforms implemented in Macedonia. Meanwhile, former NATO Secretary General George Robertson stated that Macedonia is ready for NATO membership and it should get the long-awaited invitation.
