An EU Information Center was opened on Makedonija Square in Skopje yesterday. This is a project of the Secretariat for European Issues and it is part of the Government's program and strategy for informing and communicating with the public during the EU integration process. The opening of this center was supported financially by the Norwegian Government.
"Precisely on the golden anniversary of the formation of the EU, we received one more information window that will enable us to compare our information on the current situation and our process for integration into the community of states, whose member we aspire to be," Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said at the opening of the Macedonian EU Information Center.
He explained that the aim of this center is to inform citizens well and avoid all disappointments related to the fulfilling of the unrealistic expectations. Citizens should be acquainted with all the consequences, in addition to the privileges, of membership in the European Union.
