The rate of long-term unemployment in Macedonia is still extremely high, the mobile workforce is scarce and the labor market is not flexible. This is pointed out in the employment policy report developed by the International Labor Organization and the Council of Europe, which was presented at the Economic Chamber in Skopje on Thursday before employers and representatives of the Government, the Unions and the international community.

"According to the last poll of the State Statistical Office, the unemployment rate is 35.9 percent. Men account for 40.8 percent, while women make up 59.2 percent of the unemployed persons. However, the work capacity of the population notes an upward trend," said Stojan Trajanov, State Counselor at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
