The National Security Council of Macedonia stated that the Republic of Macedonia opposes division of Kosovo. The state leadership believes that Kosovo could be divided only along ethnic lines, which would inspire the radical elements in this region. The Security Council concluded that there are no serious threats to the security, but that the possible risks should not be underestimated.

The Republic of Macedonia demands that the state border with Kosovo be demarcated immediately and it invites the international mediators in the negotiations on Kosovo to visit Skopje and explain the principles of their work, Dnevnik reports. A1 Televizija commented yesterday that Macedonia had decided to participate actively in this process. A1 believes that, with the invitation extended to the international mediators, Macedonia is indicating that all neighboring countries need to be consulted on this serious issue.
