The amendments to the Election Code provoked a big political confrontation between VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM. SDSM Chairwoman Radmila Sekerinska told the electronic media that these amendments are an attempt for election rigging.

Approximately 50 representatives of the Bosniaks, Vlachs, Romanies, and Turks protested in front of the SDSM headquarters in Skopje yesterday because this party opposed the proposal for the smaller ethnic communities being given guaranteed parliamentary seats. This protest provoked fierce reactions and accusations between VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM.
