"The United States has an interest in closing the open issues in the region. They also have an interest in stabilizing the region and seeing that it becomes part of the EU and NATO integrations," Macedonian Ambassador to Washington Nikola Dimitrov said in an interview for BBC.

"Macedonia has identical interests, so all blockades on this path are also blockades of the US's interests. This includes the blockade related to the name. Ultimately, this is also a blockade for Greece itself, because it too has an interest in Macedonia becoming part of Europe," Dimitrov said.
