Macedonia presented its position on the latest proposal for resolving of the name dispute to UN mediator Matthew Nimetz yesterday.

Nikola Dimitrov, Macedonia's representative in the talks on the name, informed Nimetz yesterday that Macedonia would continue to participate in the talks that are led under the auspices of the United Nations. Dimitrov also notified the UN mediator which points of his latest proposal are acceptable and which are unacceptable to Macedonia. The position adopted by the party leaders, which was presented in the form of a non-paper and is not available to the public, was presented to Nimetz yesterday. The UN mediator will assess the positions of the two countries, after which he will set a date for a new meeting with the two sides, at which Macedonia and Greece's remarks would be reviewed in detail. Greek sources say that this meeting is expected to take place this week.
