Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski will invite the SDSM, PDSH, and BDI leaders to consultations today regarding UN mediator Matthew Nimetz's last proposals for the name dispute, government sources informed. Gruevski will also meet this evening with Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski and Macedonia's representative in the talks on the name Nikola Dimitrov.
"None of Nimetz's three proposals is a reasonable basis or proposal for possible resolution of the dispute. They are all old and unsuccessful proposals, and they were rejected at least once by the two sides involved in these talks," government sources stressed. They said that Gruevski would ask the party leaders for support for this position, emphasizing that this does not mean that the talks on the name would not continue.
