President Branko Crvenkovski said after the NATO summit that the Republic of Macedonia would survive and withstand the shock. All those who think they will block Macedonia's efforts are very wrong. Greece used, or, to be clearer, abused its legitimate right to veto and did gross injustice to the Republic of Macedonia. Macedonia fulfilled all membership criteria, as confirmed by all other NATO member states, he said.

The Macedonian President said he was ready together with the Government to define a slightly different concept of action in order to seek out a way of protecting Macedonia's state interests. President Crvenkovski insisted in his statement that the disappointment must not isolate and paralyze the country and called on all relevant political factors and creative intellectual potentials in Macedonia to join the making of the country's new approach to its Euro-Atlantic integration.
