Faruk Iljazi from Golema Recica and Vulnet Xhelili from Rakovec are suspected for shooting at the BDI caravan in the Tetovo village of Rakovec, the Interior Ministry informed. Iljazi was detained, while Xhelili surrendered to the Tetovo police yesterday. Meanwhile, the incidents in the Tetovo and Gostivar regions have stopped. The Gostivar mayor, who suspended classes in the elementary and secondary schools in the Gostivar Municipality on Tuesday, issued a decree for classes to resume, with the explanation that “the situation has settled down”.
Iljazi and Xhelili are suspected of shooting with automatic rifles outside the “Prince” café in the Tetovo village of Rakovec. Four party vehicles of BDI and two private vehicles of citizens were damaged in this shooting, while Muhamed Suma from the Skopje suburb of Cair was wounded in the upper left leg. BDI Chairman Ahmeti said that this incident was an assassination attempt against him.
A Tetovo investigating judge ruled 30-day detention against Iljazi, after BDI Deputy Chairman Rafiz Haliti and other members of this party identified Iljazi in the police station in the Skopje suburb of Avtokomanda.
