ELECTION SILENCE STARTS AT MIDNIGHT TODAY

The election silence prior to the parliamentary elections on Sunday starts at midnight tonight. During this period, the electronic media must not broadcast any commercials and messages of the participants in the elections, while the dailies must not publish advertisements of the participants. The parties are not allowed to campaign among voters, post new posters, and distribute propaganda material, the media report.

The publishing house Kiro Dandaro from Bitola printed and submitted the confidential election material to the State Election Commission.

Over 1.7 million voters will have a chance on 1 June to decide which candidates will enter the new assembly make-up. Citizens will vote at 2,976 polling places and a total of 5,811 domestic and 462 foreign monitors will monitor the elections.
