According to the first unofficial information from the headquarters of VMRO-DPMNE and the State Election Commission, the VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition “For Better Macedonia” won the first early general elections in the Republic of Macedonia.
According to the information from VMRO-DPMNE’s headquarters, which processed 62.12 percent of the voting material, VMRO-DPMNE’s coalition polled 321,681 votes while 158,785 voters cast ballots for the coalition led by SDSM. According to VMRO-DPMNE’s analytical center, this party’s coalition is expected to win 64 parliamentary seats out of a total of 120, the coalition led by SDSM 28, BDI (Democratic Union for Integration)16, PDSH (Democratic Party of Albanians) 11 and PEI (Party for European Future) 1.
VMRO-DPMNE’s early results have partly been confirmed by the State Election Commission, which based on its processed data accounting for 24.73 percent of the vote, said that the coalitions led by VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM polled 56,507 and 26,510 votes respectively.
