Over the last few months domestic and foreign websites that contain the word Macedonia in their name and on which the most important news from the Macedonian social, political, and culture sphere are published, have been a frequent target of hacker attacks. Hackers from the region are especially active in this context, and they have been joined by the Spyro & Maestro/Kosova Hackers Group.

This group carried out one of the most recent attempts for silencing of the media by hacking the webpage www.makedonija.com/mic/vesti.php, on which the Macedonian Information Center has been publishing news within the frames of the portal www.makedonija.com over a decade. As of 3 September this webpage has been invaded with Albanian national signals and statements.

MIC sharply opposes all encroachment and violation of independent reporting, regardless of the manner in which this is committed and who stands behind it.

We inform the MIC readers that, until normal communication is established on the site makedonija.com, they can read the news on the website of the Macedonian Information Center www.micnews.com.mk.
