The amended draft budget 2009 debate begins today. The draft was previously discussed by the relevant parliamentary committee and was harshly blasted by the opposition for its size in circumstances of a financial crisis. 

Revenues and expenditures have been set at 153.2 billion denars and 164.7 million denars respectively and the deficit is 2.8 percent of GDP.

According to the projections, GDP in 2009 is expected to grow at a high rate of 5.5 percent.
