The Interior Ministry will secure all polling places on Sunday with static and mobile police teams. There will be increased presence of the police at all polling places where election incidents were registered in the past, as well as at polling places considered risky. The members of the special police unit will also be in a state of alert. Citizens will also be able to contact the police via the hot line 192.

“We will do everything within the frames of the law and the police’s authorities to enable citizens to vote in accordance with their convictions, peacefully and without pressure. The Interior Ministry will not tolerate anyone who tries to usurp this civic right, regardless of whether they are members and sympathizers of a certain party or ordinary criminals. Police and other officials who act contrary to the Interior Ministry’s orders and authorities will not be tolerated,” Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska stressed at Thursday’s press conference, at which she promoted the operating plan for peaceful elections.

All police and other officials will wear blue uniforms or special sleeveless jackets on Sunday.
