President of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov is satisfied with EC recommendation and believes that this is an important step for all Macedonian citizens. 

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski stated that yesterday was a historical date for the citizens of Macedonia and added that Macedonia is to continue carry out reforms.

Deputy Premier for European Integration Vasko Naumovski, says that Wednesday is a historical date for Macedonia and that EC awarded Macedonia on the basis of the results of the Government.

Euro Ambassador Erwan Fouere stated that Macedonia fulfilled key criteria for admission in EU, Wednesday.

European MP Zoran Thaler, rapporteur for Macedonia, advises that it would be fair EC to determine a reasonable time limit for starting negotiations.

All Macedonian political parties and citizens greeted the decision of European Commissions for the start of negotiations.
