Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski categorically confirmed Friday that the name issue resolution had to be verified by the people in a referendum.
“The name dispute is a historical matter and only people can decide it. Politicians, on the other hand, may only voice their opinion. For me, this is a closed matter. Without asking people what they think of the proposed resolution, the name issue cannot be solved,” the prime minister said.
