Seven foreign companies will  participate in race for acquisition of ESM (Electric Power Supply Company of Macedonia) - Distribution.

The Italian ENEL, US AEC, Austrian EVN AG, Checks CEZ, German RWE and EnBW, and a company, whose application was delivered in an unmarked envelope have submitted tender applications, Economy Minister Fatmir Besimi said Friday.

Companies that meet the tender criteria: assets of one billion euros, capital of 500 million euros and 700,000 consumers on several markets,  should be selected by December 30.
The ESM -Distribution privatization should be completed by the end of March.
According to Besimi, the successful privatization of ESM will improve the image of Macedonia among foreign investors.
