The Macedonian Assembly adopted the Election Code last night, the electronic media reported yesterday. Article 192-a, which was added to the bill, also became part of this code.

This article regulates the structure of the election boards. Besides three members of the public administration, the election boards will also include two representatives of the political parties: one from the parties in power and one from the opposition parties that won the most votes at the last parliamentary elections.

VMRO-NP opposed such resolution and it submitted a number of amendments, demanding that this article be deleted. This party's parliamentarians walked out of the assembly during the voting on this bill and they did not vote on the law.

Over 120 amendments were assessed during the Assembly debate, and some of these amendments were incorporated into the code.
