Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilinka Mitreva

"I do not believe in pessimistic prognoses. I believe in the strength of the dedication to the reforms that will take the Republic of Macedonia to the European Union", Foreign Minister Ilinka Mitreva said yesterday in response to the prognosis of "Economist". The foreign minister hopes that Macedonia's efforts will be evaluated realistically.

"I believe in the messages that arrived from Salzburg, that is, from the meeting that I attended at which the commitments from the Thessaloniki agenda were reaffirmed. Europe's open door policy confirmed the importance of the Balkan countries' stability and prosperity. This also confirmed that the countries would be evaluated according to their individual results", Mitreva added.
