- The Republic of Macedonia on Tuesday was elected as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the period January 2014 – 2016. Macedonia’s nomination was endorsed by 177 countries out of 193 UN member-countries and the membership represents additional impetus for improving the situation of human rights in Macedonia.
