- Mediator Matthew Nimetz, following the meeting with Macedonian and Greek negotiators in New York, urged Tuesday both sides to seriously reflect on the way which could help reach a final solution. He did not reveal which there are momentums of his proposals that the two negotiators had remarks about but added that in context to the security situation in the world, it is a good time for the leaderships of the two countries to see if there are new ways to resolve the problem. Nimetz is slightly disappointed and explained that there is a limit to how much a mediator can do and with this confirmed the statement of Greece’s negotiator Adamantios Vassilakis that since the signing of the Interim Accord, Macedonia has not done anything to move the name row forward. Nimetz said that he would visit Macedonia and Greece by the end of June or beginning of July.
