The Ministry of Economy announced the international tender for construction of 19 small hydroelectric power stations with overall capacity of 20 megawatts. All the locations are on rivers in the western part of Macedonia.

Most of the stations will be located along the Crn Drim River where eight small power stations are offered in three packages. All domestic and foreign physical and legal persons, with turnover of over 100 euros per KWh of installed capacity over the past year, are entitled to participate. The day of opening bids will be set later, Economy Ministry officials informed.

Those to win the tender will also be granted a concession to use the water over a period of 20 or 30 years depending on the installed capacity.
