INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION IN MAY INCREASES 10.1% FROM 2003 AVERAGE

Industrial production in the Republic of Macedonia in May 2006 increased by 10.1% from the 2003 average, which is due to the increased production in the main industrial groups: intermediate goods industries, except energy, by 35.2%, and non-durable consumer goods industries by 4.3%, official statistics shows.

Production in the manufacturing industry in May 2006 compared with the average production in 2003 increased by 15.2%, in mining and quarrying by 77.4%, and in power, gas and water supply by 17.7%.

Industrial production in the Republic of Macedonia in May 2006 in comparison with April 2006 increased by 7.6% and in comparison with May 2005 climbed up by 5.4%, the State Statistical Office announced today.
