The US citizen of Macedonian descent, Gligor Tashkovich, will be responsible for attracting foreign investments in Nikola Gruevski's Government. Following a few phone conversations with the mandatary, AMBO's executive vice president sent Gruevski a letter a few days ago notifying him that "the proposed cooperation is an exciting challenge to him and that he accepts to be part of the new Government."

Thus Gruevski's expectations to appoint a seasoned and highly acclaimed economist from abroad to the position of deputy prime minister have been realized. Tashkovich has been vice president of the trans-Balkan oil pipeline AMBO for 12 years, an American investment of 1.5 billion euros. Previously he filled several management posts in important international institutions, while as a consultant he was engaged on several projects.

His CV states that he cooperated with the administrations of the two former Macedonian presidents Kiro Gligorov and Boris Trajkovski and played a part in establishing Macedonia's relations with Malta, Angola, Uzbekistan and Georgia.
