Companies from Kazakhstan are going to start exploring early next year where and how to invest in Macedonia, while Macedonian officials are going to attend the Power Forum in Kazakhstan in October.
Investments from Kazakhstan are the Government's new vehicle for raising the level of foreign direct investments. The Government will also seek opportunities for bringing investments to Macedonia in India and China. For the time being, it is only certain that Kazakhstan will invest most in Macedonia's power sector.
Before realizing the investment, the Macedonian Government will consider the possibility of establishing diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan.
Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki discussed this issue with his Kazakh counterpart Kassymzhomart Tokaev within the framework of the meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York over the past two days. The Kazakh foreign minister agreed that the two countries should cooperate economically, which is all the more so considering that Kazakh companies are already present in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.
