Industrial production in August 2006 went up by 11.3 percent from the 2003 average, 1.5 percent from July and 9 percent from August last year, the State Statistical Office said.
The rise is largely a result of the production increase in the groups of intermediate goods, energy excepted, of 32.4 percent and perishable goods for general consumption of 4.9 percent.
The manufacturing sector and the sector of mining and quarrying increased by 13.7 and 95.4 percent respectively from the 2003 average.
Production capital goods in August dropped by 28.8 percent from the 2003 average, production of durable goods for general consumption declined by 9.3 percent, while the sector of power, gas and water supply noted a drop of 7.1 percent.
