The Government assessed at its session on Saturday the National Strategy for harmonization of the domestic legislation with the European legislation and it established the dynamics of the process for integration into the European Union.

Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Gabriela Konevska-Trajkovska said that year 2010 is the final deadline by when the state should complete the harmonization of the Macedonian legislation with the European legislation. She added that 313 statutory acts and 1,200 sub-acts divided into 35 chapters have to be harmonized by year 2010, stressing that the dynamics and priority for this have already been established.

The Government's strategy was also presented before the Macedonian Assembly's Committee for European Affairs, where it was stressed that it is extremely important for this harmonization to be carried out with a consensus.

The Government decided to form 35 working groups that will work on harmonizing Macedonia's legislation with the European legislation.
