Germany will help Macedonia most if it fulfills the defined priorities during its six-month long EU presidency: resolving of the internal crisis in the European Union and resolving of the problems related to the EU Constitution. This was Deputy Prime Minister Gabriela Koneska-Trajkovska's reaction to German Ambassador Ralf Andreas Breth's statement before the Macedonian Parliament that Germany could not be defined as a special lobbyist for Macedonia. The deputy prime minister said that they never received any concrete remark that they would be the only lobbyists, but she said that Germany is exceptionally friendly inclined toward Macedonia and the process for EU enlargement.
"It is very important to understand the momentum of Germany's EU presidency. This means that they will focus primarily on resolving the EU's internal issues. Nothing can help Macedonia more than that which they will practically do: resolution of the internal crisis in the EU, resolving of the problems related to the Constitution, and creating a healthy postulate for enlargement of the European Union. Tell me, what is this if not lobbying for the process for enlargement. Thus, I assure you that Germany will really make a positive impact toward all countries that have to join, primarily Croatia and Macedonia," the deputy prime minister said.
