Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa said in Strasbourg yesterday that he hopes that Macedonia would be given a date for start of the negotiations for membership during Slovenia's presidency of the EU, in the first half of year 2008. "Slovenia will try to help this candidate-country receive a date for start of the negotiations," he said at the press conference in the European Parliament. But he said that the country has to fulfill the conditions set by the EU.
