Macedonia's partners in NATO recommend to Macedonia that it get involved in the processes in Kosovo. This was the message that Macedonian Defense Minister Lazar Elenovski received in Washington yesterday. "Dnevnik" has learned unofficially that the role that Macedonia could play in future Kosovo is to assist the transformation of the Kosovo Protection Corps.

The United States is satisfied with Macedonia's progress on the path to NATO membership and it expects positive results in September, when the candidates will be assessed. But senior US representatives stressed that the country still has work to do. Fighting corruption and crime is the last thing that Macedonia must complete as future member of NATO, General Lance Smith, commander of the US command of NATO, told Elenovski.
