UN Special Representative for Kosovo Martti Ahtisaari's proposed resolution for the final status of Kosovo is acceptable to Macedonia, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said after the meeting with Hashim Thaci, leader of the Kosovo opposition and member of Kosovo's negotiating team. Gruevski stressed that it is of great importance that this document also contains a proposal for the way in which the issue of demarcation of the border should be resolved, noting that Thaci and he agreed that this is a technical issue.
After exchanging information with the international community representatives and getting acquainted with the content of this document - a copy of which was presented to him by Thaci - Gruevski said that he expects this document to support the stability in the region.
"The document states precisely the deadlines, manner, and methodology how the technical demarcation of the border will be conducted, so there is no room for any disputable situations. Over the next 120 days the two sides will have to form a joint commission, which will also include one international community representative. The process for physical demarcation of the border should be completed within a year of the formation of this commission," Gruevski said.
