Year 2007 is a crucial year for Macedonia for implementation of the reforms. By ending the year successfully, we will give our friends in NATO a chance to invite us to join the Alliance at the next NATO summit, Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said in Brussels yesterday following his meeting with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and the session of the North Atlantic Council.

Gruevski stressed that these two meetings were a good opportunity for him to explain what the Macedonian Government is doing at the moment and to present the Government's commitments and efforts related to the reforms necessary for accession to NATO and improvement of the situation in Macedonia. The prime minister stressed that at the talks with Scheffer and in his address before the Council, he talked about the efforts for drawing investments, the reforms in the defense and education spheres, and the overall situation in Macedonia in conditions when BDI is boycotting the Parliament.
