PM Jansa - PM Gruevski

Politicians in Macedonia should not be divided as regards the country's national interests, such as integration into the EU and NATO, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa advised yesterday. He called on the political parties to continue the dialogue and cooperate.

"I want to encourage the Government and all parliamentary parties to continue with the reforms and to continue with everything that has been started so far. We also encourage intensive political dialogue, which the Government is prepared for. Of course, we also encourage the opposition parties to cooperate constructively as regards membership in the EU and NATO and all other undisputed national interests," Jansa said following the meeting with Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.

He also conveyed Slovenia's experiences in the process for integration into the EU and NATO, stressing that all political parties signed an agreement for cooperation and there were no differences between the Government and opposition as regards the national interests.

"No one even thought of boycotting the work of the Parliament when we had to ratify important laws that are a condition for membership in the EU," the Slovenian prime minister said, calling on the political parties in Macedonia to cooperate constructively.
