The Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament adopted MEP Erik Meijer's draft report on Macedonia yesterday with 59 votes for and four votes against. This draft report also includes an amendment proposed by the Green Party, which states that Macedonia should be recognized under its constitutional name, MRTV reported on Tuesday.
"This is the first official EU document that proposes that Macedonia should start the negotiations for membership with the European Union," Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki said.
The European Parliament will vote on this report at its Plenary Session in July.
