PM Gruevski addresses parlamentariansThe Macedonian Assembly gave Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski's government a vote of confidence late last night. The majority of the parliamentarians rejected the SDSM parliamentary group's proposal that the Assembly votes no confidence in the Government. A total of 65 parliamentarians voted against the no-confidence motion, while 43 parliamentarians voted in support of this motion. There were no abstentions.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski addressed the parliamentarians before the vote. He said that he would continue to work as he has done so far, by fulfilling the promises and not succumbing to blackmail and pressure. Gruevski stressed that the interpellation motion is a legitimate and democratic move, but that the timing is bad. He assessed yesterday's interpellation as a senseless attempt to slow down democracy. "Sekerinska's last exposition, in which she said that their aim is not to bring down the Government, indicates that their objective is to slow down the reforms," Gruevski said.
