NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said at the plenary session of the EAPC (Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council) Security Forum in Ohrid that NATO's doors are open and that it depends on the countries whether or not they will be invited to join at next year's summit in Bucharest.
"Our host Macedonia, Albania, and Croatia are implementing the reforms within the frames of the Action Plan for membership. I tell them once again: NATO's doors are open for those countries that fulfill NATO's standards. My message to all aspirant countries is that if you implement all reforms, NATO will fulfill its commitments," Scheffer said.
The NATO secretary general underlined that NATO has special relations with the host country.
